Second in the Lexicon adventure series, The Ice Castle is full of family, adventure, fantasy, and music. Thirteen-year-old cousins Ivan and Daphne discover that their Aunt Adelaide is very ill and dying, so the family gathers around her during her surgery. But Ivan and Daphne discover that their younger cousin Lila has found out about their secret world of Lexicon. They track her to the Land of Winter "where social status and freedom are determined by how well one sings." Fortunately Lila is musically talented, but this separates her from Ivan and Daphne. Now the three must work together to escape their imprisonment and restore spring to the Land of Winter. (Ages 9-12)
