Submission Form

All kids 17 years of age and younger are welcome to send in their original short stories to be published on our site. All entries should be written in English with correct spelling and grammar. The short story (maximum 500 words) must be original. Entries that contain bad language, sex, violence, or death will not be accepted. Submissions in all caps will not be accepted. The form must be filled out completely for short stories to be accepted.

Short stories submitted are for posting on KidsBookshelf only. Submissions that follow our guidelines will be posted the first week of the following month. For example, short stories submitted in October will be posted the first week of November. KidsBookshelf will not be able to offer critiques or feedback on any submissions.

You must have parental permission before submitting a short story.

We are no longer able to accept submissions via postal mail, please use the online form below. Mailed submissions will not be posted or returned.
