Raindrops: A Shower of Colors
It's raining, and all the colorful animals are running, "Go! Go! Go!" through the drops falling from the sky! A blue butterfly and a red rooster blend their...

Yellowstone
by Brooke
Age 13

In Yellowstone park the oak tree sways, the sun shone down in bright yellow rays; Buffalo graze across the road, cars sit motionless waiting to go; Leaves crunch under little feet, as squirrels scamper through the street; Butterflies flutter across the sky, baby birds are learning to fly; All is well in Yellowstone park, nature sleeps all in the dark.

Optimism
by Kaitlin

Age 12

They say I’m not optimistic And that I never will be Maybe what they say is true But there’s something that they can’t see My days are full of joy And my heart is full of love Just because I see what’s below Doesn’t mean I can’t see what’s above Optimism is something that helps People get through tough days But pessimism isn’t something that hurts Others get through normal ways.

Wisconsin
by Alberta
Age 11

Down to the state where I was born, When we moved I was there to mourn Giant piles of bright white snow, With all our tulips lined up in a row Walking down to Memorial Park Seeing all the brown and grey bark Precious memories will lay there forever Of past times while we were together

Sunset of My Life
by Melissa
Age 11

Sunset of my life I once was lonely Without true love Till I found you You came into my life Like a phoenix, Streaking across the sky Lighting everything up And then leaving it dark again When you died True love Comes at much too high a cost If that’s love, I don’t want it Because Love caused The sunset of my life

My Hero
by Kaitlyn
Age 12

To see him you may not know That inside he is filled with grief His bravery is below The heartache that is shown so brief Having him close by Makes fear depart with ease On him I can rely More than the endless seas Hidden beneath his grey hair Is sorrow of a noble man Who sits in his dusty chair Thinking of how it began

Wintertime
by Ashley

The days get shorter, And they fly by, The leaves fall off trees, It makes me want to cry. I miss the sun\'s warmth, But it\'s all gone now, The ground is covered in snow, It makes me wonder how.

Golden Winged Angel

I saw a golden winged angel tonight Flying across the moon's radiant light With wings of beautiful, magnificent gold As it turned, it's wings creased in a delicate fold So careless and free, I wish it was me

What is Love?
by Brianna
Age 13

Love is too vague for a word, so I'll give you a definition, and in case you were wondering, It's not a game, it's an emotion. Love is still caring for someone, even after a fight, Love is something you HAVE to share, in order to keep it bright. Love is in your hands, and grows when you hold another, Love keeps the world going, and is contagious between each other.

Nature's Orchestra
by Madison
Age 11

As I look outside my window, I see many gloomy things caused by the rain. I look towards the trees and see a mother bird keeping the baby birds safe and dry from the rain. They are the audience, along with myself. I walk to my bed and stare at the ceiling. The rain beats against my roof like the chorus of drums starting a song. Lightning strikes and it is not too far afterward that I hear the roll of thunder like the cymbals clashing together with the beat of the drums. I hear the hungry baby birds chirp. Those are the violins. The mother bird ventures out into the rain and her voice is the flutes and clarinets. "Take this in," I tell myself. "This, this is nature's orchestra.

Bunny's vs Felines
by Alexess
Age 9

…It was dark in an alley way of Alley Cat Valley. Tuffy bunny was surrounded by angry, snarling alley cats. He was heading for his bunny ninja classes and made a wrong turn… “OW! OW! OW!” Tuffy bunny yelled as his teacher, Miss Moony, grabbed him by his long spotted ear. “TUFFY BUNNY! How many times do I have to tell you not to daydream in my classroom!” Miss Moony yelled. “Sorry Miss Moony.” Tuffy bunny mumbled. He had always wished to battle felines in a giant war and chase them away for good. All of a sudden, CRASH! The window shattered in the classroom as Dr. Wiggles, Mr. Jingles, and Mr. Giggles leaped into the classroom showing their cat fangs and hissing at all the rabbits in the classroom. “AHHHHH!” All the bunnies except Tuffy Bunny and his friends Luna and Blue Baby ran. “We will destroy you small rabbits!” The Lion, Dr. Wiggles hissed. “NEVER!” Cried Tuffy bunny and his friends. The white Tiger, Mr. Jingles leaped strait at Luna. Luna sprang up and slammed his head into the floor with her powerful hind legs. He was out cold. Then The cheetah, Mr. Giggles ran as fast as he could at Blue Baby. Blue Baby tried to do the same as Luna but was hit by Mr. Giggles before he could make a single hit. “BLUE BABY!” Tuffy Bunny yelled. Dr. Wiggles took that chance to leap at Tuffy Bunny. He caught Tuffy Bunny by the back right leg by his teeth. “AARRG! Let go so I can pummel you to the ground! ” “Ha, ha, ha, ha!” Dr. Wiggles shook with laughter and loosened on Tuffy bunny’s foot just enough so that Tuffy Bunny could slip out and give Dr. Wiggles a kick in his big fat nose. The great Lion returned an attack by puncturing a hole with his teeth in Tuffy Bunnies left ear. SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! Tuffy bunny turned towards the loud banging noise and seen that Blue Baby got out of Mr. Giggles hold and knocked him out by numerous attacks to his giant spotted head. The giant lion sprang at Tuffy Bunny only to be met with a kick in the head by Luna, a bite to the right ear by Blue Baby and to finish the combo, Tuffy Bunny put all his five pounds and slammed the Lions head into the floor. Dr. Wiggles made a great THUD as he crashed to the floor. The three bunnies victory was awarded by a citizenship award and is promised by the teachers that they shall never be in trouble again.
