Big Wolf & Little Wolf, The Little Leaf That Wouldn't Fall By Nadine Brun-Cosme Illus by Olivier Tallec High up in a big tree there is a bright green leaf. Little Wolf wants nothing more than to touch and taste this little leaf. But Big Wolf tells him to wait, it will fall soon enough. Spring turns to summer, summer turns to fall, and fall turns to winter, but that little leaf does not fall. By now it's as black as cinders, and Big Wolf decides to finally climb up and get it to make Little Wolf happy. As Big Wolf climbs it becomes more and more dangerous, and Little Wolf worries that the leaf isn't worth all this trouble. But soon that gold was gone and Nicholas left more until it was all gone, and the merchant's daughters were safe from slavery.
