Lewis, a young mother from Olathe, has launched a site called KidsBookshelf that includes book reviews, writing and drawing contests, craft projects, recipes and links to worthy kid-friendly sites. She publishes kids' drawings and sponsors poetry and short-story writing contests every month. Lewis also posts information on authors and illustrators, including addresses of favorite authors. She publishes pictures that can be printed out and colored.
The site also has a teachers' section, where Lewis publishes stories and book reviews sent in by classes, and it sponsors an Adventures in Reading program for local schools.
